Swahili
Swahili is an official language in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. It is also spoken in Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mayotte, Mozambique, Oman, Rwanda, Somalia, and South Africa. Throughout East Africa, Swahili is used as a lingua franca, allowing vastly diverse peoples to communicate and live peacefully alongside one another. It is a Bantu language, but has strong Arabic influences.
