Kirundi
Kirundi is the official language of Burundi. It is a Bantu language and is very closely related to Kinyarwanda, the official language of Burundi’s neighbor on the north, Rwanda. In total, there are about 4 million people who speak Kirundi. It is spoken mainly by the ethnic groups known as Hutu and Tutsi.
