Local file system (LFS)
In the Distributed Computing Environment (DCE), an organised collection of data in the form of a root directory and its subdirectories and files. An LFS supports special features useful in a distributed environment, such as the ability to replicate data; to log file system data, which provides quick recovery after an abnormal end; and to simplify administration by dividing the file system into easily managed units called file sets.
