En type antibiotika som kommer fra visse typer Streptomyces bakterier. Anthracyclines er brukt til å behandle mange typer kreft. Anthracyclines skade DNA i kreft celler, forårsaker dem å dø. Daunorubicin, doksorubicin og epirubicin er anthracyclines.
