A professional who plans and conducts library program to provide special services for young adults. Responsibilities include:

  • Selects books and audiovisual materials of interest to young adults to be acquired by library.
  • Assists young adults in selecting materials.
  • Plans and organizes young adult activities, such as film programs, chess clubs, creative writing clubs, and photography contests.
  • Delivers talks on books to stimulate reading.
  • Compiles lists of library materials of interest to young adults.
  • Confers with parents, teachers, and community organizations to assist in developing programs to stimulate reading and develop communication skills.
