water control supervisor
A professional who directs and coordinates, through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities of workers engaged in allocation, regulation, and delivery of government controlled water in irrigation district, and in repair and maintenance of irrigation facilities. Responsibilities include:
- Reviews water-rights agreements, irrigation contracts, and departmental policies and regulations to determine equitable distribution of water.
- Schedules time and amount of water to be delivered to users in accordance with instructions.
- Inspects channels, siphons, tunnels, weirs, roads, bridges, buildings, and equipment for need of repair and maintenance.
- Assigns supervisory personnel to sanitation, maintenance and repair activities and inspects work for compliance with prescribed operational procedures and methods.
- Confers with water users to investigate and resolve complaints and public relations problems.
- Notifies water users of changes in policies and procedures.
