A professional who draws topographical maps from aerial photographs, using instruments that produce simultaneous projections of two photographs, taken from different positions, in manner that permits stereoscopic viewing for delineation of planimetric detail and drawing of contours. Responsibilities include:
- Orients plotting instruments to form three-dimensional stereo image.
- Views stereoscopic image by using anaglyphic, binocular, or image alternator techniques.
- Determines contour interval and vertical scale of image, using mathematical table.
- Traces contours and topographical details to produce map.
