An airport that is used as an alternative to a citys primary airport. For instance, Washington, D. C. S Dulles (IAD) rather than Reagan National (DCA), or Chicagos Midway (MDW) rather than OHare (ORD). Reduced fares are sometimes applicable from these alternate airports.
